Data-Linc Group’s FDM7000 Fiber Optic Digital Modem series offers maximum reliability and accuracy for fiber optic data communication in industrial environments. It provides optical isolation while supporting long-range, high-speed communication over two fibers.

Fiber optic cabling increases bandwidth by carrying more data information with greater reliability than most other mediums, such as coaxial cable or copper wiring. Data can transmit at higher speeds and greater distances than coaxial cable. It is immune to lightning, crosstalk and ground noise, while maintaining maximum immunity to interference. In addition, fiber optic cabling ensures data security because it is extremely difficult to tap into non-radiating signals.

The FDM7000 series offers simplex, half duplex or full duplex operation in industrial environments. It will easily interface with PLCs, RTUs and PCs, and RS232 with optional AE485 (AE485 Auto Enable is RS485 compatible) and RS422 serial interfaces. The FDM7000 series provides a transparent data link to 115.2 kbps. The multi-mode FDM7000 offers increased bandwidth at high speeds, over distances of up to 1.4 miles (2.25 km).
