VoIP,
landline and mobile networks (GSM / CDMA
/ 3G) - ECOTEL® gateways establish
low-cost connectivity
GSM
gateways, CDMA Gateways and 3G Gateways
establish cost-effective connections between
mobile radio networks and ISDN
(PSTN), analog fixed networks
(POTS) and VoIP (Voice
over IP). Synonyms for GSM gateways, CDMA
Gateways and 3G gateways are: fixed
cellular terminals (FCT), mobile radio adapters,
fixed wireless terminals, cellular gateways,
SIM boxes and GSM routers. Areas
of application include: least cost
routing (LCR), wireless local loop (WLL)
and business continuity.
GSM gateways reduce telephone expenses (Least Cost
Routing)
GSM gateways connected to PBX systems will
make calls via one of the mobile radio modules installed
in the gateway, if an employee makes a call to a
mobile number from his or her office extension.
This will normally be the same type of mobile radio
module used in everyday mobile phones.
As a general rule, calls from mobile to mobile cost
less than calls from the fixed network to a mobile.
GSM gateways (VoIP GSM Gateways) offer additional
benefits when combined with voice over IP (VoIP).
