MSDC2500
Multi-Sector MCS Downconverter

The MSDC2500 is a multi-sector downconverter for MCS broadband wireless applications. Up to 8 downconverters can be installed in a single chassis into two banks of four.

Each downconverter receives return RF signals from subscribers over the full 2500 to 2524 MHz band and downconverts these signals to 18 to 42 MHz for compatibility with standard DOCSIS frequency plans. This frequency plan mirrors that of the TR2525 transceiver family to ensure proper modem operation. Four input RF switches and a separate power supply for each bank allow the downconverter to be used in a redundant 1:1 configuration. An RS232/RS485 and SNMP over 10BaseT Ethernet control module allows for remote management, alarm monitoring and switch-over.

Features:

  • Low noise figure, 2.5 dB

  • Integrated cavity filter for high out-of-band rejection

  • Frequency synthesized local oscillator locked to a high stability TCXO or external 10 MHz reference

  • High reliability, state-of-the-art design using microstrip MMIC and surface mount technology

  • Two downconverter banks with RF switches and separate supplies allow for 1:1 redundant operation
