The
VCom UCD4940 up-converter/down-converter is designed for
use with the VCom TR700 subscriber transceiver and PA700
power amplifier in UHF fixed broadband wireless
applications. The UCD4940 combines an agile 256 QAM
up-converter and a 16 QAM down-converter in a 19" 1RU
chassis.
When combined with the PA700 and DPX700, the system forms
a complete high power transmitter chain and low noise
receive chain for direct connection to the base station
antenna and DOCSISTM - compatible Cable Modem
Termination System. Full control of the unit (and the
PA700 if connected), including input/output frequency and
level is accomplished via the front panel buttons and
liquid crystal display. The UCD4940 and PA700 are also
remotely manageable over a serial RS232/RS485 connection
or future optional SNMP. Status and alarm data can also be
viewed either from the front panel or remotely. The
UCD4940 offers a quick and easy installation as a base
station IDU for BWINTM based on DOCSISTM.
